Washington shut out Arizona 2-0 on Friday when John Carlson broke a scoreless tie with 7:58 left and Ilya Samsonov stopped 16 shots. The Capitals look to avenge a 2-1 overtime loss to Tampa Bay on Oct. 16 and either Samsonov or Vitek Vanecek will be in net. Either will be fine for the Caps as Smasonov is 3-0-1-1 with a 2.43 goals-against average and Vanecek is 2-0-2-0 with a 2.26 GAA and .911 save percentage. Alex Ovechkin has scored a goal in four straight games and he has recorded a point in every game this season. Washington is 9-3 its past 12 games after scoring two or fewer goals its previous game and the Capitals have won 19 of their past 26 road games.
