Vancouver at Buffalo

Vancouver followed up a great road win at Philadelphia with a loss to Detroit in a back-to-back situation, but the Canucks have had two days off as they travel to Buffalo for this one. Vancouver outshot the Red Wings 41-21, including 23-6 in the third period, but Detroit goalie Thomas Greiss had an uncharacteristic great game that night. The Sabres, surprisingly, have opened the season with two wins, but they still are playing without Jack Eichel, and this is the same team that lost 18 straight at one point last season. Thatcher Demko has a 2.79 goals-against average in two games for the Canucks, who have won seven of the last nine meetings. Buffalo is 14-45 its past 59 games as an underdog and 17-43 after scoring two or fewer goals its previous game. Take the Canucks.
