New York is 9-24 its past 33 games as an underdog and still is in a rebuilding stage and Washington has won 23 of 29 as a favorite. The Caps have two solid goalies in Ilya Samsonov and Vitek Vanecek, and Samsonov is expected in net tonight after recording a 2.60 goals-against average and .902 save percentage in 19 games last season.
