Exciting Week 5 matchup as the Browns (3-1) travel across the country to take on the Chargers (3-1) @ 4:05 PM EST
LA Chargers vs. Cleveland Browns Preview
Fresh off their Monday Night win over the Raiders, the Los Angeles Chargers (3-1) host the Cleveland Browns (3-1) in SoFi Stadium @ 4:05 PM EST. The Browns struggled on offense against the Vikings last week but we’re able to hold on to the win thanks to their defensive play. The Cleveland defense have only allowed 13 points in their last two games. The Browns look to continue playing great defense against a Chargers team that can score in a hurry.
Justin Herbert is proving why he was taken in the Top-10 of the 2020 draft, throwing for 1,178 yards, 9 TD’s and 3 picks so far this season. The most impressive thing so far with Herbert is his accuracy, holding a 69% completion percentage over the first 4 weeks. The LA offense will look to use Herbert’s arm a lot in this game with the Browns defense only allowing an average of 66.5 rushing yards against teams this season.
Austin Eckler is a versatile back but Cleveland has one of the league’s best D-lines. Myles Garrett has been a monster and already has 6 sacks on the season (4.5 sacks against the Bears). Check out where these teams rank in NFL.com Power Rankings.
The Browns could be dealing with some injury problems as two Offensive Linemen (Jedrick Wills Jr. and Chris Hubbard) are both questionable. Also Safety Ronnie Harrison is also listed as questionable (concussion) for the game. LA might be without Cornerback Chris Harris Jr for another week, who has been out for a few weeks dealing with a shoulder injury.
The AFC North is already turning out to be one of the toughest divisions in the NFL. Three of the four teams are tied at 3-1 so this game in LA has some huge implications for the Browns. This is also a huge game for LAC, who sit at 3-1 which is tied with the Raiders and Broncos. LA already has 2 divisional wins this season, beating both the Raiders and Chiefs.
Look for Cleveland to pound the ball with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. The Browns have the first-ranked rushing offense in the NFL (177.0 yards per game), and will be facing the 29th-ranked defense in that category, as the Chargers allow 139.5 rushing yards per game. The Chargers have won seven of nine meetings straight up (3-6 ATS) since 2003 and cruised to a 38-14 win in 2018 when they last met. LA also has a 8-4 ATS record when they have played as the home team.
The Browns are 6-1 ATS in last six games vs the Chargers and Cleveland is also 6-1 ATS in last six road games. The Chargers are 7-1 ATS in last eight games and have hit the UNDER in their last five home games. The Browns rank second in opponent yards per play at 4.5, compared to LA’s 5.5 which ranks 14th.

LA Chargers vs. Cleveland Browns Game Picks
Now this is not an offical pick on the game just something I have seen while doing some early reasearch this week. The bookies are still not giving much love to the Browns so I think anything under a field goal is a good play. Lean towards the Browns plus the pointsGRAB MY NFL WEEK 5 PICKS!
