Houston at Detroit Game Overview
The Astros have been able to close the gap with Texas in the AL West on the strength of a 5-2 record in their last seven games; however they did drop two of three to the New York Yankees at home this week. They are 55-46 heading into Game 1 of this three-game weekend series including a 23-25 record on the road in MLB baseball picks. The total stayed UNDER 7 in Wednesday’s 4-1 win against New York as -125 home favorites with BetAnySports and it has stayed UNDER in five of their last eight contests.
Houston’s pitching staff has the second-best ERA in the American League at 3.73 and over the course of the team’s last seven games its opponents have only scored a combined 15 runs. The Astros will go with Collin McHugh as their starter for this game. The right-hander is coming off a quality start against Los Angeles after holding the Angels to two earned runs on six hits over six innings pitched to pick up the win. His ERA on the year is now 4.18 with a 1.43 WHIP.
Detroit is putting the heat on Cleveland in the AL Central following an impressive three-game sweep of Boston this week as road underdogs with BetAnySports in all three contests. The Tigers are now 54-48 on the year after going 5-2 on a recent seven-game road trip. They return home for this series with a 26-19 record at Comerica Park. The total has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in nine of their last 11 games overall.
The Tigers will kick-off this series with Matt Boyd on the mound as their starter. The left-hander will be making his ninth start of the season and he comes into this game with a 4.63 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP. His last start was on July 23 against the Chicago White Sox and he allowed one earned run on five hits, but he only lasted 4.1 innings. In his last start against Houston, Boyd was tagged for five runs on six hits over five innings pitched.
Houston at Detroit MLB Baseball Game Picks Prediction
Both of these teams come into this series playing solid ball, but I have to give the edge to?

Chicago White Sox at Chicago Cubs
Wednesday, July 27, 8 p.m. (ET) ESPN
Money Line: White Sox +212 Cubs -230
Total Line: 8.5
White Sox at Cubs Game Overview
The White Sox swept the first two games in this extended four-game home and home interleague matchup after doubling up their cross-town rivals by a combined score of 8-4. Tuesday’s night 3-0 shutout as +175 home underdogs stayed UNDER nine-run closing line after ending as a PUSH in Monday night’s 5-4 victory as +194 underdogs in MLB picks. Chicago is now 5-3 in its last eight games and an even 50-50 on the year. It heads to Wrigley Field with a 22-26 record on the road this season.
Anthony Ranaudo is expected to get the start in this game for the White Sox. The right-hander comes over from Texas in a trade and just two days ago in a start against his new team he allowed five earned runs and gave up five walks in just 1.1 innings pitched. Chicago may have to look for some added run support in this one from a lineup that has now scored at least four runs in six of its last eight games.
The Cubs return home with an up and down 6-5 record since the All-Star break. They have gone 4-2 in six home games and 2-3 on the road. The total has stayed UNDER in nine of those 11 games on BetAnySport closing line. Chicago is still 6.5 games up on St. Louis in the NL Central with an overall record of 59-40 and it is 30-16 at Wrigley this year.
Look for Jason Hammel to be on the mound as the Cubs’ starter. He is 9-5 on the year with a 3.35 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP through 19 previous starts. The right-hander has now won his last two starts while allowing three earned runs on seven hits through a combined 11 innings pitched. The Cubs have been providing some solid run support to their pitching staff all season long with an average of five runs a game; however this average has dropped to just 3.5 runs in their last 11 games.
White Sox at Cubs Game Prediction
The White Sox come into this game as prohibitive road underdogs on BetAnySports current money line .
MLB Monday Preview & Free Pick
Detroit Tigers at Boston Red Sox
Monday, July 25, 7 p.m. (ET) ESPN
Money Line: Detroit +138 Boston -148
Total Line: 9.5
Detroit at Boston Game Overview
Fresh off a 2-1 series victory over the Chicago White Sox on the road this past weekend, the Tigers come into this matchup six games off the pace in the AL Central and four games out of the final wildcard spot in the AL. They have gone an even 5-5 in their last 10 games and the total on the closing line has stayed UNDER in 10 of their last 13 games in MLB baseball picks.
Inconsistency at the plate has not helped Detroit’s cause with an average of just 3.2 runs in nine games since the All-Star break. However, it did manage to score a combined 11 runs in its last two games against Chicago this weekend. The Tigers’ pitching staff is ranked 12th in the AL with a team ERA of 4.44. Look for Justin Verlander to get the start on Monday night. The right-hander went eight full innings last Wednesday against Minnesota and held the Twins to one earned run on a home run, but a lack of run support led to a 4-1 Tigers’ loss.
Boston continues to battle it out with Baltimore for the lead in the AL East. The Red Sox earned a 2-2 split with Minnesota this past weekend with Sunday’s 8-7 win as -170 home favorites. The total went OVER the closing 10-run line and it has gone OVER in four of their last five games. They are 6-3 since the All-Star break and game and a half behind the Orioles in the standings heading into this week’s action.
Scoring runs has not been an issue for this lineup lately with an average of eight runs a game over its last six outings. Boston continues to lead the AL in scoring with an average of 5.7 runs a game. It will counter with Drew Pomeranz as its starting pitcher in this game. The left-hander came to the Red Sox via a trade with San Diego and in his first start with the team on July 20 he was shelled for five earned runs on eight hits in just three innings of work. His ERA on the year still stands at a very respectable 2.83 with a 1.12 WHIP.
Detroit at Boston Game Pick & Prediction
The pressure will be on Pomeranz to bounce back quickly from a very sketchy AL debut. With Detroit’s bats struggling to find its form.
MLB Wednesday Preview & Free Pick
Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Angels
Wednesday, July 20, 10:05 p.m. (ET)
Money Line: Texas +125 Los Angeles -135
Total Line: 8.5
Texas at Los Angeles Game Matchup Overview
The Rangers have already dropped the first two games of this three-game divisional clash by the combined score of 17-11 in what has been a slugfest for both teams. The total has easily gone OVER closing betting line after staying UNDER in their previous three games in MLB baseball picks. Texas (55-40) is now just 4-11 in the month of July and its lead over Houston in the AL West is down to 4.5 games.
While the Rangers’ bats continue to do a good job with run support, their pitching staff continues to get shelled. It is now ranked 11th in the AL with a team ERA of 4.47. Look for Martin Perez to get the start in this series finale. The left-hander is 7-6 on the year with a 4.05 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. He has lost his last two starts while allowing a total of 12 earned runs on 15 hits in just 9.2 innings of work. He did win his last start against the Angels back in late May by shutting them down in his six innings on the mound.
Los Angeles is still well back in the standings in the AL West at 42-52, but it has been perfect since the All-Star break following a three-game weekend sweep over the Chicago White Sox at home. The Angels’ record this season at their home ball park matches their road record of 21-26 through 94 games played. The total on GTBets closing line had stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in five previous outings before this series.
The Angels are a middle-of-the-road team in the AL when it comes to scoring runs with an average of 4.6 a game, but during this current five-game winning streak that average has exploded to 6.6 runs. Los Angeles will turn to starter Hector Santiago in an effort to pull off a second-straight sweep. He has won his last three starts to improve to 7-4 on the year. The left-hander’s ERA now stands at 4.27 with a 1.27 WHIP after going 20-straight innings without allowing a single earned run.
Texas at Los Angeles Game Prediction
The Angels have a huge advantage on the mound in relation to -135 moneyline as home favorites, but I think both teams will be able to keep getting runners across the plate.
MLB Friday Preview & Free Pick
Houston Astros at Seattle Mariners
Friday, July 15, 10:10 p.m. (ET)
Baseball Money Line: Houston +120/Seattle -130
Total Line: 8
Houston at Seattle Game Overview
The Astros begin play in the second half of the season 5.5 games in back of Texas in the AL West. They are 48-41 on the year after winning five of their last seven games heading into the All-Star break. The total has stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing total line in seven of their last 10 games in MLB picks and predictions. This weekend’s series kicks off a six-game road trip with Houston going 20-22 on the road this year.
Houston is ninth in the AL in scoring with 4.5 runs a game and its pitching staff is ranked third in the league with a 3.87 team ERA. The Astros will go with Doug Fister as their starter on Friday night. The right-hander is 8-6 on the year with a 3.55 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. He has lost his last three starts while allowing a total of 11 earned runs on 20 hits including four home runs, but he is coming off a quality eight-inning start against Oakland on July 7.
The Mariners need a strong start out of the second-half gate at 45-44 on the year and 8.5 games back in the AL West race. Heading into this week’s break they managed to take two of three from Kansas City on the road last weekend, but this followed three-straight losses to Houston on the road. The total has stayed UNDER in five of their last seven games on BetAnySports’ closing line.
Seattle has been able to average 4.9 runs over its first 89 games of the season. This pitching staff is also one of the best in the AL with a team ERA of 3.95. Look for James Paxton to get the start for the Mariners in this series opener. The left-hander has made eight previous starts this season with a 2-3 mark in five decisions. He is coming off eight strong innings against Kansas City despite his team’s 4-3 loss. He allowed just two earned runs on seven hits in that game to lower his ERA to 3.91 on the year with a 1.59 WHIP.
Houston at Seattle Game Pick & Prediction
The UNDER has been trending well for both teams and it has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in six of the last seven meetings this season.
MLB Wednesday Preview & Free Pick
New York Yankees at Chicago White Sox
Wednesday, July 6, 8:10 p.m. (ET)
Money Line: New York -140 Chicago +130
Total Line: 9
New York at Chicago Game Overview
The Yankees hammered out a 9-0 victory on Tuesday night as -117 road favorites to force a Game 3 rubber match in this series after losing the opener 8-2 on Monday as -120 favorites on the road. The total went OVER RealBet closing line in both contests and it has gone OVER in five of New York’s last seven games. The Yankees are now 2-3 through the first five games of their current 10-game road trip to fall to 18-24 on the road overall.
It has been feast or famine at the plate during this road trip, but overall New York has belted-in a total of 24 runs in its last five games while giving-up a total of 20 runs. Overall, it is ranked 13th in the AL in scoring with an average of 4.2 runs a game. Michael Pineda is slated to get the start for the Yankees in this game. The right-hander is 3-7 this season with a 5.24 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP, but he has not allowed more than three earned runs in each of his last six starts.
Even with Tuesday’s loss the White Sox are 5-2 in their last seven games and they have won their last four series. They are 43-41 overall with a 22-20 record in their home ball park. With the total going OVER in the first two games of this series it has now gone OVER in five of their last seven games on closing line.
This is another team that has been able to knock in some runs lately with an average of 4.9 runs over its last seven games. The White Sox are ranked 11th in the AL in scoring with an average of 4.2 runs through their first 84 games. Look for right-hander Miguel Gonzalez to be on the mound as the Chicago’s starter. He last faced the Yankees in mid-May on the road and allowed three earned runs on five hits through just 4.2 innings pitched. Gonzalez has given-up 18 earned runs over his last four starts to see his ERA spike to 4.88 on the year.
New York at Chicago MLB Game Pick
Both teams took turns pasting one another in the first two games of this series so this time around I think they are each going to score their fair share of runs.
