Oklahoma vs. Villanova Game Matchup Overview

The Oklahoma Sooners continue their pursuit of their first ever national title in team history this Saturday night in Houston as slight underdogs and to keep their Big Dance alive they are going to have to win a second-straight game as slight underdogs.

The Sooners’ run to this game included a solid 77-63 victory against Texas A&M as 2.5-point favorites on BetAnySports’ closing betting line and they really caught bettor’s attention with last Saturday’s 80-68 romp over No. 1 Oregon as one-point underdogs. The total stayed UNDER in both of those games. Before winning these two games both straight-up and against the spread, Oklahoma failed to cover in its previous seven outings and the total has now stayed UNDER in 12 of its last 14 games.

The key to keeping this run alive will be the continued high-level of play by All-American senior Buddy Hield. He led the team in scoring all season long with 25.4 points per game and he came up huge in the win against Oregon with 37 points while going 13-for 20 from the field. The Sooners are averaging 81 PPG in this tournament and they are allowing an average of 70 points on defense.

Villanova reached the Final Four out of the South Region by taking-out Miami 92-69 in the Sweet 16 as a four-point favorite before stunning No. 1 Kansas 64-59 as a two-point underdog in the Elite 8. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing 145-point line after going OVER 140 against the Hurricanes. The Wildcats are a perfect 4-0 ATS in this tournament and the total has gone OVER in 10 of their last 13 games in NCAA basketball picks.

Balance and defense have been the key to Villanova’s success in the month of March. In last Saturday’s game against Kansas, the trio of Josh Hart, Kris Jenkins and Ryan Arcidiacono each scored 13 points and despite shooting just 40.4 percent from the field and 22.2 percent from three-point range, the Wildcats were able to keep the high-powered Jayhawks in check to grind-out a win.

Oklahoma vs. Villanova Game NCAA Basketball Pick

There is no doubt that Hield is a stud, but I am banking on the Wildcats executing the same exact blueprint in the win against Kansas to take down their second-straight Big 12 foe.

Wednesday Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz NBA Daily Pick & Prediction

Wednesday Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz NBA Daily Pick & PredictionGolden State Warriors at Utah Jazz

Wednesday, March 30, 9 p.m. (ET)

NBA Betting Pointspread: Golden State -5.5

Total Line: 205

Golden State at Utah Game Matchup Overview

It will be a quick turnaround for Golden State as it pursues win No. 68 on the year following Tuesday night’s 102-94 victory against Washington as a 12.5-point home favorite on VietBet’s closing betting line. The Warriors have now won their last five games straight-up, but they are just 1-5 against the spread over their last six outings. The total stayed UNDER the 226-point closing line and it has stayed UNDER in six of their last eight games.

The pressure of chasing the NBA single-season record for wins could be catching up with Golden State in a number of close battles as a heavy favorite, but there is little doubt that this entire team has its eyes set on the prize. Stephen Curry led all scorers in Tuesday’s win with 26 points and four of five starters were in double figures. The Warriors shot just 43.7 percent from the field, but they connected on 11-of-25 attempts (44 %) from three-point range.

The Jazz have gotten hot at the right time of the year with a SU 8-2 record in their last 10 games. They are now an even 37-37 on the year and clinging to the seventh spot in the Western Conference standings. Utah has been able to match this record ATS during this run and the total has stayed UNDER in seven of its last nine games. It comes into this game with a SU 23-13 record at home this season while going 20-15-1 ATS.

In a road game against Golden State earlier this month, the Jazz fell 115-94 as 14-point road underdogs with the total ending as a PUSH on GTBets closing line. They also failed to cover the same spread in a road loss to the Warriors in late December, but in the first meeting this season on their own court, they covered as 7.5-point underdogs in a tight 106-103 loss. Current form behind Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors could point to another close battle at EnergySolutions Arena. Utah is averaging just 97.9 points per game, but it is ranked second in the league in points allowed (96.1).

Golden State at Utah NBA Game Pick & Prediction

This could be a trap game for Golden State as a single road venture in the middle of an extended eight-game home stand.

Oklahoma City at Toronto Game Matchup Overview

View NBA Consensus Picks

The Oklahoma City Thunder will put their straight-up seven-game winning streak on the line with a trip to the Air Canada Centre to tangle with Toronto. The Thunder are coming off a huge 111-92 victory at home against San Antonio on Saturday to cover as 12.5-point favorites on the NBA betting line. They are now 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games with the total staying UNDER in three of their last five contests. Oklahoma City is 21-13 on the road this season straight-up, but it drops to 12-21-1 ATS in those 34 games.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for 60 points in Saturday’s romp over the Spurs, but they pretty much had an uncontested court to play on with San Antonio resting its top five players. These two continue to lead the way on an Oklahoma City team that is holding down the third spot in the Western Conference standings at 51-22. Durant is the leading scorer with 27.9 points per game and he is also pulling down a team-high 8.3 rebounds. Westbrook is averaging 23.7 points and he leads in assists (10.4).

The Raptors are still in hot pursuit of Cleveland for the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings at 49-23 overall. They come into this game with a SU 8-3 record in their last 11 games after beating New Orleans 115-91 on Saturday as 11.5-point road favorites on BetAnySports closing betting line. It was the first time Toronto covered ATS in its last four outings and the total has stayed UNDER in five of its last seven games in NBA picks.

Toronto is ranked 14th in the NBA in scoring with an average of 102.9 PPG, but it remains one of the top teams in the league at the other end of the court behind a defensive effort that is holding opposing teams to just 98.3 points a game. The Raptors did allow 115 points in a recent road loss to Houston, but they are a perfect 6-0 SU in their last six home games while allowing fewer than 100 points during this winning streak.

Oklahoma City at Toronto NBA Game Picks

It is easy to see why Oklahoma City comes into this game as a slight road favorite when you breakdown both of these teams.

Thursday Sweet 16 Villanova Wildcats vs Miami Hurricanes NCAA College Basketball Picks & Predictions

Thursday Sweet 16 Villanova Wildcats vs Miami Hurricanes NCAA College Basketball Picks & PredictionsThe NCAA tournament opening two rounds are in the books as we all get ready for the tip of the Sweet 16. That tip will be on Thursday March 24th, 2015 with a solid four game slate. The top of those games features the second seeded Villanova Wildcats taking on one the third seeded Miami Hurricanes.

For the Hurricanes the road to the Sweet 16 started for them with a 79-72 opening round win over the Buffalo Bulls. The success continued in the second round as the Hurricanes managed to hand the Wichita State Shockers a 65-57 loss. In those wins Angel Rodriguez posted at least 24 points in each of those contests while leading his Hurricanes to this point.

Meanwhile the Wildcats have rolled to two opening wins to set up this matchup on Thursday Night. In the first round the Wildcats used a 40-26 first quarter to roll to a 86-56 win over the Bulldogs of UNC Asheville. Despite a much more difficult matchup against the Iowa Hawkeyes in the field of 32 the Wildcats still managed to win by 19 points.

The Wildcats success in each of those contests revolved around multiple players getting involved in the scoring as at least four different players post double digit point totals.

Key Players To Watch:

Angel Rodriguez, Miami Hurricanes: The Hurricanes senior guard is putting together a terrific March Madness through the first two round of the post season. Much of the Hurricanes success this season revolves around Rodriguez who not only averages double digits per contest but also is key to the teams ability to distribute the basketball.

Daniel Ochefu, Villanova Wildcats: Ochefu is a dual threat for the Wildcats that will give the Hurricanes a fit on both ends of the floor. In both games during the NCAA tournament, Ochefu has posted at least ten rebounds. In one of those games Ocheful posted 17 points to go with 10 rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots and a steal.

#2 VS #3 Info: Despite being evenly matched up over the years the number two seed have controlled this series winning 36 of their last 59 meetings. The last time these two seeds met up was during the 2013 NCAA Tournament as two different meetings took place as each seed managed to pick up a win to move to the Elite Eight.

Betting Trends: Entering their sweet 16 meeting on Thursday Night the Wildcats are an early 4.5 point favorite while the over/under line has yet to set by the handicappers in Las Vegas.

As we look a little deeper into this matchup neither of these teams have had success against the spread of late. Entering this matchup the Hurricanes are just 5-5 over their last ten games while the Wildcats are just 4-6 over that same stretch. The Hurricanes meanwhile was solid during the regular season going 19-13 overall against the spread NCAA college basketball picks.

The one key trend that will have many sports bettors turning to the Wildcats and that is the fact that Hurricanes struggled away from home this season. Overall the Hurricanes managed to cover the spread in four of their eleven road games that featured a point spread this season.

Will the Hurricanes manage to continue the ACC success this March Madness or will the Wildcats manage to continue their post season success this season?

NBA Wednesday Los Angeles Clippers at Golden State Warriors Preview & Free Pick

NBA Wednesday Los Angeles Clippers at Golden State Warriors Preview & Free PickLos Angeles Clippers at Golden State Warriors

Wednesday, March 23, 10:30 p.m. (ET) ESPN

NBA Odds & Pointspread: Golden State -10

Total Line: 225.5

Los Angeles at Golden State Game Matchup Overview

The Clippers come into this Pacific Division battle with just three straight-up wins in their last nine games following a 109-105 loss to New Orleans this past Sunday as 10-point road favorites on BetAnySports Online Sportsbook closing betting line. They have now failed to cover against the spread in NBA free picks and predictions in six of their last seven contests and the total has gone OVER in their last three games. Los Angeles is 21-14 on the road this season SU with a 17-16-2 record ATS.

As this team continues to push towards the playoffs as the likely fourth seed in the Western Conference, it has lacked consistency down the stretch on both ends of the court. The Clippers are still ranked sixth in the NBA in scoring with 104.6 points per game behind Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan, but they have failed to reach this average in four of their last six games. Defensively, Los Angeles has given-up 106.7 points a game over this nine game slide as opposed its season average of 101.1 points allowed.

The quest for a new NBA single-season win record took a hit this past Saturday night in Golden State’s stunning 87-79 loss to rival San Antonio as a 4.5-point road underdog. The Warriors struggles continued on Monday in a tight 109-104 win against Minnesota as 12.5-point favorites on the road. The total stayed UNDER in both of those contests and it has stayed UNDER in three of their last four games. Golden State will look to extend its perfect 32-0 run at home this season, but ATS this record falls to 17-15.

As goes league MVP Stephen Curry goes the Warriors. When his shooting is off this team struggles and lately that has been the case. The pressure of chasing the 1995/96 Chicago Bulls’ record of 72 wins along with the Spurs breathing down Golden State’s back for the top seed in the West could be taking its toll. This is still the best team in the NBA this season, but it has failed to cover as a double-digit favorite in six of its last 10 games.

Los Angeles at Golden State Game Free Pick

The Warriors will be going for the four-game season sweep on its home court.

Monday Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks NBA Daily Pick & Prediction

Monday Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks NBA Daily Pick & PredictionWashington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks

Monday, March 21, 8 p.m. (ET)

NBA Pointspread: Atlanta -6.5

Total Line: 206.5

Washington at Atlanta Game Matchup Overview

The Washington Wizards will look to extend their current straight-up winning streak to five games against their Southeast rivals in pursuit of a spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. They are currently a game and a half out of the eighth and final spot at 34-35 on the year. Washington has gone 3-1 against the spread during this run and the total has stayed UNDER in all four games.

In this past Saturday’s 99-89 victory against New York as eight-point home favorites, Wizards’ guard John Wall helped team erase a 10-point deficit at the half with a game-high 24 points while going 8-for-17 from the field. All five starters scored in double figures, but the team shot just 44.8 percent from the field including a dismal 8-for-29 effort from three-point range. Washington is ranked 13th in the NBA in scoring with 103 points per game, but it is allowing an average of 104 points a night on defense.

The Hawks are holding down the third spot in the East at 41-29 and riding a SU five-game winning streak. They have been able to cover the spread in their last four games after beating Houston 109-97 at home this past Saturday as seven-point favorites in NBA daily picks on the closing betting line. The total stayed UNDER 215 in that game and it has stayed UNDER in nine of their last 13 outings. Atlanta is 23-12 SU at home this season with an 18-16-1 record ATS.

Paul Millsap continues to lead the way with a team-high 17.3 PPG, but the Hawks have shown good balance and depth with five different players averaging at least 11 points a game. Atlanta is just below the Wizards in the rankings when it comes to scoring points (102.6) and it is ranked sixth in the league on defense in points allowed (98.8). It has only allowed 100 points or more in two of its last seven games.

Washington at Atlanta NBA Game Pick Prediction

Both of these division foes are playing some of their best ball of the year heading into Game 1 of a home-and-home series.
