Early Season NFL Betting

Early Season NFL Betting

Many people are scared of making NFL picks in the early part of the year. Instead of recognizing that this is the part of the year that provides opportunities, people fear the unknown. They say that they will put in their NFL picks when they have a bit more information on the various teams and the various matchups. This is a poor approach, though. Making NFL picks at the beginning of the year is invariably the better approach. A smart NFL bettor recognize this approach and take it to heart as he makes his picks this season.

So why does it make sense to make NFL picks in the early part of the year? This is when there are the most opportunities to exploit the weaknesses in the market. Even though you don’t have much information on teams, chances are that you know the teams better than the market does. This is where opportunities lie to make NFL picks that will benefit your bankroll. Don’t do anything stupid like waiting until the 2nd month of the season before you make free NFL picks. This is ill-fated and will strip you of money-making opportunities. Get in the game right away.

The NFL Betting Mistake You Can’t Make

Many people talk to me about mistakes rather than betting tips. They want to know what mistakes people always make when they put in their NFL picks. So what is the biggest NFL picks mistake that you have to avoid if you want to make some money this season? The mistake is in thinking that you can beat the game without hard work. Sports betting, and the NFL in particular, is a difficult thing. It is hard to win if you work, and it is even harder to win if you think you can coast through the process.

You need to use stats in a smart way and you can’t ever stop learning. When you cut your mind off and quit learning, you are sunk. If you are truly looking to make cash this season with your NFL picks, then you will take this to heart and keep your work ethic up throughout the season.

NFL Teams to Watch For

As you prepare to make your NFL picks this fall, there are bound to be teams that you will want to target. So who are those teams? Who are the teams that you can with this year with your NFL picks?

Making NFL picks on undervalued teams is always your best bet if you’re trying to make consistent money. This means that talented teams that struggled last year will be a good bet. The Carolina Panthers are a good bet to bounce back and make some money for you this season. Likewise, teams like the Dallas Cowboys will be a pretty good bet, too. If you can look for those squads with talent that people probably don’t know about, then your NFL picks will be much better in the end.

Concentrate on finding value and don’t fall too in love with one team or another. This is a general rule that will help you make NFL picks in the future. Falling in love with a few teams is a bad way to operate because it will lead to you making bad NFL picks. If you keep an open mind, you will be able to spot opportunities where they lie.

Kerry Collins calls it a career and paves the way for Jake Locker in Tennessee

The Tennessee Titans have been in somewhat of a slump over the last two seasons as they have been unable to reclaim their glory and get back into playoff contention in the AFC Conference. One of the main reasons for their problems has been their inconsistent play at the quarterback position. With Vince Young being a problem child with one foot out of the door and Kerry Collins not getting any younger, the Titans have been in desperate need of some new blood.

Recently, Collins called it a career and it may have come just in time as the Titans drafted promising young quarterback Jake Locker out of Washington in the 2011 NFL draft. Even though Locker isn’t the quarterback he was even a year ago when he was projected to go number one overall, the Titans lucked out in getting him when they did.

It is uncertain whether or not Jake Locker will turn into the NFL starter that everyone hopes he will, but if he does the Tennessee Titans will almost certainly begin to be favored in NFL picks once again.

Arizona Cardinals could be going after quarterback Vince Young

The Arizona Cardinals were one of the best teams in the NFL a few years ago as they had future Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner under center and leading the way. Ever since Warner called it quits before last season, the Cardinals have gone into a downward spiral and now are in desperate need of a veteran quarterback to take over under center.

Even though Max Hall and Matt Leinart were thought to shoulder the load at quarterback, the Cardinals fell flat in that department and now are in need of another gunslinger to get the offense back on track. With another veteran quarterback, the Cardinals could get right back in the mix and be favored in NFL picks once again, but quarterbacks are not easy to come by these days.

The one option the Arizona Cardinals will almost certainly explore is trading for or signing (if released) Vince Young. This might be just the answer they need to get back into contention in the NFC West.

Can the NFL be beaten with NFL picks?

Can the NFL be beaten with NFL picks?

For bettors out there, one of the questions that is always asked has to do with the viability of winning. Can you consistently win with sports betting? Is the NFL a league that can be beaten? The answer is yes. If you make NFL picks the right way, then you can win consistently. You have to know what the right method is, though. You have to do things a certain way and you have to consider the market, too. Having knowledge of the betting world itself and knowledge of football is a key if you are going to win with your NFL picks.

The key is to understand value. You shouldn’t be betting on teams that are overvalued. You have to think about NFL teams as if they are stocks. Bet on teams when their stock is low. Sell teams when their stock is high. This might seem simple, but it is difficult in application. Not too many people want to bet on NFL teams when they have struggled. You have to change your way of thinking if you want to be successful with NFL picks, though. Go with the counter-intuitive approach when your goal is finding the best possible value.
