Tomorrow is a big 12-race card at Saratoga featuring a pair of (G1) stakes, the $300K Prioress Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at a distance of 6 furlongs, and the $750,000 Whitney for older runners going 1 1/8th miles.
From the west, we had another solid day at Del Mar. Please see full results below. Today we return to Del Mar with four premium racing selections.
East Coast Results: Saratoga Race #3 exacta box (3-1) $32.00.
Saratoga Race #6 Exacta (7-5) $12.80.
Saratoga Race #7 Top Pick #6 (R KING OF THE ROAD) $3.00.
West Coast Results: Del Mar Race #1 Top Pick #7 (BEAU ROYALE) $5.20.
Del Mar Race #2 Top Pick #2 (THE ROAN RANGER) $6.40.
Del Mar Race #4 Top Pick #2 (BELLA VIAGGIA) $2.80.
Top pick: #1 (GREED AND FEAR) - Nice effort June 23rd at Churchill saw her press the pace while wide, take the lead turning for home, and tire a bit in the final 1/16th to finish second. Race was her first since Oct. 30 and she'll be moving from the No. 12 post to the rail, drop into the claimer, and will be making back-to-back starts for the first time.
2nd pick: #7 (Smart Believer) - Debuting daughter of "Smart Strike" is working nicely for trainer Rick Dutrow and he has Dominguez aboard for her first public appearance. The trainer/jockey combo is a strong one, winning at a 32% rate when teamed-up.
3rd pick: #2 (Bronze Beauty) - She showed good early speed before tiring in her debut April 15th at Santa Anita. Since then, she's come cross-country, joined the Pletcher barn, and is working fast for this attempt.
4th pick: #4 (Mrs Calabash) - Not a win threat, but she could grab a small slice at a big price as trainer Jimmy Jerkens adds both lasix and blinkers.
