Free Horse Racing Tips - May 27, 2012A reminder that all the major tracks will be in action on Memorial Day and Belmont will be hosting a trio of Grade 1 stakes. The legendary $750K Metropolitan Hdcp(aka the "Met Mile") heads the card with the Acorn Stakes & Ogden Phipps Hdcp adding a lot of class to a super program. The "Met" drew a very strong field with To Honor and Serve, Caleb's Posse, and Jackson Bend all set to go in a race where each horse must run hard from start to finish at the "flat" mile distance. Today we have a total of five races, three from Monmouth and a pair from Belmont. Saturday's East Coast Results: A reminder that like most of the major tracks, Betfair Hollywood Park will be racing tomorrow on the holiday. The featured race is the $250,000 Gamely Stakes, a G1 contest for older fillies & mares going 1 1/8th miles on the turf. Saturday's West Coast Results: ![]() Today's Picks: Top pick: #5 (R KING OF THE ROAD) - Very lightly raced gelding by "Trippi" broke his maiden July 23rd at saratoga in his first back off a 6 month break. He went gate to wire to win by almost 9 lengths in fast time 1:09 flat for the 6 furlongs. Sent in for another long layoff (9 months) he was equally impressive when winning an entry-level allowance at Aquedut in his return on April 14th. Working fast locall for this, he's the horse to beat. 2nd pick: #3 (Those Were the Days) - His record is outstanding (6-5-1-0) and continues to improve his overall game. He's won on this surface before and speed/stalker is making back to back starts for the first time since last fall. Strong contender. 3rd pick: #4 (Isn't He Perfect) - Very consistent 4yo colt was only a length back of "Days" on April 13th and has come back with a pair of stong races since then, including a win here at this distance just 4 days ago. BETFAIR HOLLYWOOD PARK Race #1 at 4:00 PM Eastern Top pick: #2 (HALFAPONDEROSA) - Mare won right off a claim by Doug O'Neill on March 2th at Santa Anita goinf 7 furlongs on the dirt, then raced both wide and evenly there going two-turns on the grass April 22nd. Daughter of "More Than Ready" has finished 2nd in 3 of 4 starts on this surface and this is her favorite distance (9-3-5-0). The horse to beat. 2nd pick: #6 (Ambitioness) - She has back class and runs today firt off a Vlad Cerin claim (a 20% winning angle from a very small sample). Strong finisher runs 2nd off a 2 1/2 month break and will be closing fast. 3rd pick: #3 (Kiss My Swiss) - She lives at this price and has the best early speed in this small field. Her local record is great (11-3-1-4)and she could prove very tough to run down if left alone on the lead.
