Horse Racing Tipsters - May 13, 2012A reminder that next Saturday is the Preakness S. (G1) from Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. We'll be publishing a Special Edition racing newsletter featuring the second jewel of the Triple Crown, along with five other races (mostly stakes) on the big under-card. The sheet will be available late afternoon on Friday. Nice performance yesterday by Mark Valeski in winning the $200,000 Peter Pan S. (G2) at Belmont Park. Trainer Larry Jones skipped the Kentucky Derby (G1) with this fast-developing colt and he proved that he can handle the often tricky surface at Belmont (affectionately known as "Big Sandy") as this 3-year-old's next appearance will be in the Belmont Stakes (G1). In the Peter Pan, an exacta box of our top three selections (a $12 investment) returned a nice $136 when our third pick No. 1 "Right to Vote" finished a strong, pace-setting second at 47-1. Today we have two races apiece from both Belmont and Monmouth Park. From the west we are back at Betfair Hollywood with another four racing selections. Get them all here. East Coast Results: Monmouth Park race #1 Best Bet #1 (Willy Elliot) $4.60. Belmont Park race #2 Exacta (4-10) $17.60. Monmouth Park ace #9 Top Pick #4 (Chairman Now) $3.40. Belmont Park race #9 Exacta (box of the top three picks) 5-1 $136.00. West Coast Results: Betfair Hollywood Park race #7 Exacta (10-3) $27.80. ![]() Today's Picks: Top pick: #2 (DOUBLE HARBOR) - Filly lost all chance at the start when making her debut April 22nd on a sloppy track at Aqueduct. Daughter of "Rockport Harbor" was "squeezed" off between runners and never had a chance after that. Trainer Bruce Levine brings her back quickly, drops her way down in price, draws the rail, and she meets a very weak group. The horse to beat. 2nd pick: #6 (Cee's Hollie) - The probable favorite, Calder shipper finished a pace-setting second there racing for $16K on April 9th in her second career start. She chased the wire-to-wire winner that day and held well for the place. Obvious contender in this bad field. 3rd pick: #4 (Grayzin Sound) - She has some closing kick and of the remaining fillies she's the only one who doesn't weaken during the stretch run. Has a shot at a nice price.
