Santa Anita Horse Racing - March 24, 2012This afternoon's East Coast racing newsletter features three stakes for 3-year-olds from Turfway Park in eastern Kentucky. The biggest of the three is the $500,000 Vinery Racing Spiral (G3) which has a field of 12 going 1 1/8th miles on the "all weather" surface. Also on tap is the $50K Hansel Stakes (6 furlongs), and the $75K Rushaway (1 1/16th miles). As an added bonus we'll include the (G3) Bourbonette Stakes from there, a race for 3-year-old fillies. The Road to the Derby east of the Mississippi is getting Hot and Heavy with four $1,000,000 races in the near future, all to be run at the distance of 1 1/8th miles. We'll have expanded coverage of each of them. In order they are: From the west, we take to the Santa Anita meet with four premium racing picks. Get all of today's premium racing selections here. East Coast Results: Tampa Bay Downs Race #3 Exacta (6-8) $38.60. Aqueduct Race #4 Top Pick #1 (Fiddler's Diva) $3.30. Aqueduct Race #7 Top Pick #6 (Pleasantfriday) $8.60. Tampa Bay Downs Race #10 Top Pick #8 (Treasure Hunt) $3.80. West Coast Results: Santa Anita Race #1 Top Pick #2 (I Sense Your Luck) $5.40. Santa Anita Race #3 Best Bet #5 (Love My Way) $4.40. ![]() Today's Picks: Top pick: #6 (ROCKIN BOOGIE) - The probable favorite, he's finished second in four straight starts and is only one of two entered who have raced on this main-track in the past. He missed by a neck last out in a career best performance and looks all set for his maiden win. 2nd pick: #2 (Love in the Rain) - First-timer by "Not For Love" has 10 published works since Jan. 19 and all have come here at Aqueduct as his trainer (Rick Dutrow Jr.) is the only major New York barn that's stabled at Aqueduct year round. Works are solid and Dutrow had a pair of debuting runners finish 1-2 this past Thirsday. 3rd pick: #4 (Avenged) - He "hesitated" when debuting on a sloppy track at Gulfstream on Feb. 9 and ran evenly once in stride. Son of "Vindication" has a fine work since shipping north and trainer Chad Brown wins at a 28% rate second time out. 4th pick: #3 (Luckysdream) - Speedy gelding ran a big race last out when he set a fast pace in the same race as "Boogie" and tired late to finish a close-up third. He's come back with a fine work on Mar. 18 and his early "gas" makes him dangerous.
