As a predicted two billion viewers settle down to take in the pomp and circumstance of the 30th Olympiad, one of the biggest questions (and betting opportunities) revolves around how many gold medals each country will win.

Thanks to a model developed by a Colorado College economics professor, I have put together a free guide to betting medal counts for the London Games.

Professor Daniel Johnson has developed a model for predicting Olympic medal counts by country. Over the last six Olympic Games, this model has hit with 93% accuracy. I don't handicap the Olympics personally but I can sure take a look at his model, try to find value and make some recommendations. That's exactly what I have done. As is the Wunderdog style, these picks are based not on gut feel but rather a model that looks at past performance to predict future performance.
