Neither of these teams are going to win a lot of games this season, especially on the road. The Cubs, after dropping 12 straight, have finally found someone worse than them in the San Diego Padres. San Diego has bigger problems as they are now 5-18 on the road thus far this the season. They are also just 1-8 on their current road trip. The eight losses have seen them lose by a combined score of 47-17. That is almost three runs per game, so the offense, which has been weak all season, now has to overcome pitching that has fallen apart. The Cubs have been strong at home behind Dempster where they are 18-8 in his last 26 here as a favorite of -110 to -150. The Padres, on the otherhand, are just 13-41 in their last 54 to a line of +110 to +150. Play on Chicago.
