These clubs were supposed to be in the hunt to be squaring off in the AL Championship round, but as we reach Memorial Day, there hasn't been a lot to celebrate for the Tigers. The Tigers are a below .500 team, despite having played just 18 of their 47 games against a winning team. Boston is starting to get its act together and are climbing out of a deep hole. The Sox are 11-5 over their last 16 games and that was with 11 of those 16 coming against winning teams. Felix Doubront has been a pleasant surprise and has the best ERA amongst the Bosox starters. He has been their most consistent pitcher. The Tigers have been taking their lumps vs. lefthand pitching where they have been losers of seven straight games. Boston is now 5-0 after a loss and the Tigers just 16-37 in their last 52 at Fenway. Play on Boston.
