The Detroit Tigers have been a lot less than advertised as they come into this game vs. Cleveland. They are a disappointing 20-23 on the season at just beyond the quarter pole. Justin Verlander has been mostly good, but the Tigers are just 3-3 in his last six road starts and the Indians are playing as well as anyone right now in the AL Central. The Indians have posted seven wins in their last nine games, and have been swinging the bats well, while the pitching staff has allowed just 21 runs in their last eight games or about 2.5 runs per contest. Verlander throws a lot of pitches and will be pitching on five day’s rest, but has not fared well when doing so as the Tigers are 1-4 in his last five on five days of rest. The Indians have been winning the games they are supposed to, now 6-0 in their last six vs. a losing team. Play on Cleveland.
