Free Nhl Picks - November 20, 2008
We nailed our pick last night and are back on the ice with two picks today. Over the last week we are up +7.6 units for 56%.
Today's NHL Hockey Picks:
Game: Montreal at Ottawa (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Ottawa +108 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 3.2)
The Ottawa Senators have now dropped five straight games, but considering four of the five have been on the road, they will welcome being back at home tonight. The Senators have won their last two at home prior to the streak, and will have serious payback on their minds against a Canadiens’ team that whitewashed them on the road 4-0. It was the worst loss of the season for the Senators, and the only time they have been shutout on the year, so be sure they will come out tonight with all cylinders firing. After a big start Montreal has struggled of late to drop three of four, but have been a disaster on the road where they can only claim a shootout win in their last five tries. This is a big revenge game against a struggling road team which equals value on the home team, so I'm backing the Senators here.
Game: Vancouver at Minnesota (8:05 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Game Total OVER 5 +100 (risk 3 to win 3)
This one sets up much the same way as last night's Vancouver matchup with the Rangers. Roberto Luongo was a hot goaltender producing four shutouts in six games, but the last three were at home. He has cooled off since. The road resume’ for the Canucks’ goaltending and defense is radically different from their home resume’. They have allowed 3.9 goals per game in 10 road outings. Minnesota net-minder Niklas Backstrom has been strong all season, but has actually performed better on the road as he allows two goals per game at home. The Wild offense is coming on as they have scored nine in their last three games compared to just 10 in their previous six. This one shapes up like last night's Canuck's game, and I look for the same result and will back the OVER here.
