The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off their bye week, and I don't think any team needed it more. They have been dinged up, and that is in part is because this is an aging team. Big names from the Super Bowl years (i.e. Hines Ward) and others are getting old. The Steelers do get back linebacker James Harrison and safety Troy Polamalu for this game which is one reason the line has crossed the key number of -3. The problem is that neither has played for weeks, and they can't be expected to be in top form. Polamalu is no longer playing with the same reckless abandon he used to as age and injuries have taken their toll. The Steelers are 1-2 and I don't see a playoffs team present in the three games they have played so far. They can't run the ball as they are averaging just 65 yards per game, while the defense is giving up 101 per contest. To put that 101 yards allowed on the ground in perspective, if it holds it will be the most yards allowed by a Pitt defense per games since 2003-04 when they finished 6-10. LeSean McCoy ran for 123 yards vs. the Giants and the Steelers will see a lot of him here. Another bad sign for the Steelers is that Michael Vick went turnover free last week. The Eagles sacked Big Ben nine times in the last meeting, so you know they will be in his head. Look for the Eagles to come after him early to reset the stage. Andy Reid is 51-30 ATS in the underdog role including 37-19 ATS as a road dog. He's also 24-13 ATS following back-to-back ATS losses. Take the Eagles and the points.
