WIN

The New York Giants started the season at 0-6, and everyone wrote them off. They have since won four straight games, and now the pundits say they have a legitimate shot in the NFC East. That may be true given the weak NFC East but I'm not so sure they are any better after winning four games in questionable spots. They beat a team in Green Bay that hasn't come close to sniffing a win without Aaron Rodgers. They defeated Minnesota - a team that has given up 27 points or more this season to every team, except the Giants (23). And, they beat Oakland - a team that has given up 96 points in the last three weeks. They also beat a Philadelphia team that was quarterbacked by Matt Barkley. Basically they beat three really bad teams and one good one that was on their third-string QB. The fact is that when they have faced good offenses with their #1 QB option, the G-Men have been buried. Carolina scored a season high 38 with Cam Newton (#9 passer rating), Denver put up 41 with Manning (#2), Dallas scored 36 with Romo (#7), Philadelphia put up 36 with Foles (#1). They gave up a season high points to Carolina and KC, and a second season high points to Dallas and Philadelphia. Dallas ranks dead last in defense in terms of yards per game, while the Giants are #11. However, they have both given up the same amount of points per game. The difference is on offense where Dallas is the 5th highest scoring team in the league. These teams that give the Giants fits. With their anemic offense scoring less than 20 points per game (29th in the league), back the Cowboys here.
