Understanding Park Effects with MLB Betting
When you want to engage in Major League Baseball betting, you need to understand how parks matter. MLB is different from other leagues. This is because different clubs have different actual dimensions to their parks. Parks can play significantly different depending upon where they are and how they are configured. You need to know that large parks will suppress run scoring. You also need to know when a team is built to succeed in their home park. These teams might perform very well at home, while struggling significantly out on the road.
One example of a team that is built for its home park is San Diego. The Padres have a park that is large enough to suppress most fly balls. This means that it makes good sense for them to spend money on pitchers who only have the deficiency of allowing too many fly balls. The consequence of this is that when San Diego goes on the road, their pitchers can struggle. You should be familiar with the park effects around the league. You should be able and willing to take these things into account as you make your MLB baseball picks during the upcoming season.
