Chicago Bears at Oakland Raiders NFL Picks 

The Chicago Bears and the Oakland Raiders face off in a pivotal cross-sectional struggle this week. The Bears have been good this season, but they are another team that will be looking to survive despite the loss of a starting QB. Jay Cutler got hurt last week and will be out for at least a few weeks. This is going to be a huge problem for a Chicago team that has needed Cutler’s play over the last few weeks. Oakland is tough and they play well at home, so this could be a challenge for this Chicago team. As 4-point road underdogs, they will look to hang tough for people making NFL picks.

The problem here, of course, is the uncertainty at QB. The Bears run the ball well and they play good defense, but they do put a lot on Cutler’s shoulders. He is counted on to get the ball out quickly. If the new QB is unable to do that, it could be a long day for the Chicago offense. Still, can they muster enough to get by an Oakland team that has been up and down? That is the burning question for people making their NFL picks this week. All facts point to the fact that the Bears will still be tough, but they might not be able to survive this trip to the west coast.

Carson Palmer has been good for the Raiders over the last couple of weeks. It appears that this team is hitting its stride and it needs to keep winning if it wants to make the playoffs. I would expect the Raiders to come to play in this game, limiting Chicago’s run game. Though I don’t expect the Raiders to put up a ton of points, chances are that they will put up enough to get the win. As with all games in the NFL, though, the bigger trick will be covering a spread that is bigger than 3. This is hard to do in the NFL when the teams are relatively even. If you think the Bears can be competent on offense, then you will probably like them getting the points in this game.
